AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced its preliminary consolidated and unconsolidated January 2009 revenue of NT$13,245 million and NT$13,199 million, both down by 10.1% from December 2008 and down by 71.9% from January 2008.

 

Due to fewer working days caused by Lunar New Year, large-sized panel(a) shipments for January 2009, with applications on desktop monitor, notebook PC, LCD TV and other applications totaled 3.23 million units, a 23.5% M-o-M drop. As to small-and-medium-sized panels, the shipments reached over 9.63 million units, a slight 2.2% sequential decrease.

 

(a) Large size refers to panels that are 10 inches and above in diagonal measurement while small and medium size refers to those below 10 inches.
